What do the settings on the manual-adjust drip-stop brew basket control?

The settings are open, partial open, and closed.

• Set the brew basket to open (empty circle) when brewing 7 cups to a full carafe.
• The partial open setting (half-filled circle) slows the water flow, allowing the coffee to steep a bit longer for partial carafe coffee brewing of 4-6 cups.
• Closed (x in circle) is meant for emptying the basket at the end of the brew cycle and NOT for pause and pour. As the brew cycle takes less than 6 minutes, we recommend waiting until the process is complete to ensure perfectly brewed coffee every time.
