Routine cleaning
Unplug the grinder before cleaning. Empty the bean hopper, then wipe the hopper and exterior with a damp cloth and dry them thoroughly.
Clean the inside of the grinder every three to six months, or more frequently when using dark or oily coffee beans.
Do not immerse the grinder in water, place grinder parts in the dishwasher, or use rice to clean the grinder.
Deep cleaning or removing a blockage
Follow our Cleaning a Coffee Grinder: How to Clean or Unblock Your KM5 Burr Grinder guide for complete instructions and photos visual guide here.
If the grinder hums but does not grind coffee, built-up coffee grounds may be blocking it. Pay particular attention to Step 7: Cleaning a Blockage, and make sure the dispensing chute is completely clear before testing the grinder again.
If it still does not work properly after cleaning, contact Moccamaster USA for assistance.
